Hi, I’m Angela.
I’m a fun-loving “granola bar” mom to a teenager and a toddler, Crohn’s warrior since 2012, radio personality and wife raising my family on a little tiny rock called St. Croix in the Caribbean.
So what is Mudpuddles and Motherhood? Let’s first jump to the mud.
What is mud in the perspective of life to you? Mud can be anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. It can be the darkness you’ve carried around with you, the mental battles inside your head. It could be the feeling you get when you’re losing control of a situation, the pain whether that be in physical or emotional form as you deal with the chains of an invisible, incurable illness or it could be a literal mud puddle at the park your child is running towards.
Whatever your mud may be, I want you to know that I’m here for you. I want you to know that you can rise out of the mud just like a lotus flower, but even more beautiful than before.
This blog is a compilation of my self transformation through the journey of motherhood, fighting Crohn’s Disease and learning from this beautiful island I call home. Some posts may be serious, others, including my children’s series Monday Mornings with a Mermaid will be fun. Come along with me on my journey and see for yourself.
“Whenever you doubt your self-worth, remember the Lotus Flower. Even though it emerges from the mud, once it blooms and breaks the surface of the water, the lotus flower is entirely unmarked by the dirt that surrounded it.”
Clayton Micallef (2019) – The Lotus Flower and The Mud of Life
Hi There! I’m Angela.
I’m a fun-loving, sand chasing island mom of two. I have a toddler son and a teenage bonus daughter, so life is a beautiful handful. I’m raising my family on the tiny little island of St. Croix here in the Caribbean. Living in America’s paradise has taught me to let go of my past mud puddles, investigate more natural ways to heal my Crohn’s Disease and graciously enjoy every moment as a new mom. Here is a peak into my world. Thanks for stopping by!
While the States are enjoying pumpkin patches and cozy sweaters, Fall has a whole different meaning here on St. Croix. It won’t be the leaves that are changing, it will be the sweet little Crucian Plums glowing Orange for us to pick and enjoy! But how do you enjoy this little island fruit? Check out this blog post and read 6 different ways to enjoy these little Crucian Plums. You’ll be a true islander in no time!
